Most Popular Baby Girl Names of 2015

|

Congratulations! You’re having a boy! Now comes the tricky part: What will you name him?

Not to worry. We’ve rounded up some of the most popular baby boy names for the year, plus the hottest baby-naming trends for boys, all in one place. And even if you’re not having a boy or aren’t pregnant, you’ll want to keep reading. Because how fun are stories about baby names?

The big trends for baby boy names this year cover a lot of ground. Unisex names used more for girls in recent years like Jamie, Jody, and Casey will be reclaimed by boys. Tough-guy names plus those that make a statement will also be huge – think Royal, Saint, Sage, Dexter and Jaxon. Classy, sophisticated names; those ending in “ett”; and names conjuring up warmth like Tennessee and Dune also promise to heat up (get it?). Names with the letter X or Z somewhere in there, plus unusually spelled names, will also be popular. Even Kale will be a big baby name for boys in 2015. You had to have seen that coming, didn’t you? Who doesn’t eat kale these days?

Classic names and past-year favorites like Aiden, Liam, Alexander, Nicholas and a host of others will continue to be hits among parents, too. So if you’re not all about the name trends and are more of a traditionalist, you’re sure to find some you like in the mix.
