It probably comes as no surprise to hear that infants go through a lot of diapers. Therefore, you’re going to need to know how to change one. Here’s a quick guide.
First, clean your hands by either washing them or using hand sanitizer. Next, grab all of your supplies: a clean diaper, baby wipes or wet cloths and rash cream, if needed.
Unfasten the tabs on the dirty diaper. Pull down the front half of the dirty diaper, and clean your baby’s bottom using a baby wipe. Gently lift your little one off of the changing table to clean all over him or her, including the thighs and stomach. Throw out the dirty diaper. Let your little one air dry for a few moments to prevent diaper rash.
“Make sure you wash your hands before and after.”
Next, set the clean diaper underneath your baby and pull the front up to his or her tummy. Fasten the diaper on both sides with the sticky tabs. It should be snug but not so tight that it’s pinching at all. Put your hand in between the diaper and your baby’s stomach to make sure there’s a little room. Then, he or she is ready to go!
Lastly, don’t forget to wash your hands.
