|

The Social Security Administration has released the list of top baby names for girls and boys for 2015, which is pulled from birth records of the previous year.

Showing some steady popularity, the top 6 names (in order) Noah, Liam, Mason, Jacob, William and Ethan, have all retained their places since 2014’s top name release.

The big mover was James, which moved to 7th from 9th last year, at the expense of Michael which dropped to 9th. The new addition to the top 10 list was Benjamin, made of the elements ben, meaning ‘son,’ and ‘yamin,’ meaning ‘right’, the name means ‘son of my right hand’ or ‘favorite son’. Benjamin moved into 10th at the expense of Daniel which dropped to 12th.
