Meaning

There is no known traditional meaning to the name, Daenerys. It is closely related to the name 'Daen' which is Hebrew for 'god is my judge', where Erys is derived from the Greek 'Eris' meaning goddess of discourse and destruction. Daenerys could therefore mean 'god is judge of my destruction'.

Daenerys is famously referenced as a character in the TV series "Game of Thrones", also known as Dany.
